Great place for wedding dances
It's a ballroom open since the 1920's,has been remodeled as a writer eventually my curiosity took over on Saturday after a visit to the food Bank at the Food pantry in Calmer Iowa only open on Saturday 8 to 11 am. The lay out is compreble to a resort.There's a ball diamond,shower,round hard wood ballroom,actually merrygoround like I grew up with in the 60's. Huge swing set. The ball room is rented out for parties like the Roller Rink on highway 52 . The Roller Rink skating available for private parties . Skating is seasonal 1-4 Sat and Sun. September to June. I have yet to see inside of ballroom maybe next week. It's near the river and evidently with rain she floods. Seems in all these years it would have been wise to move it.

The history alone makes this place worth visiting, but it's so unique and charming and fun, as well. Perfect for a big dance party. The setting is beautiful.
It isn't pretty on the outside and one my take it as a disappointing venue location but the inside is in pristine condition. It lacks central air and heating but perfect for most summer days.
